8 Tips for Dry Winter Skin Care
Skin is the largest organ in the body. We allocated most of their time and not treated properly. This was never more true than in winter. Winter skin is dry skin, no two ways about it. Sometimes it feels like you’re wearing a furry wool shirt! For those with rosacea, eczema habits in winter, do not help things a bit. We start the heat, turn the electric blanket, snuggle by the fire hot cup of coffee. . . I wonder why our skin is itchy and peeling! No matter where you live, winter dry skin is a concern. Outdoor humidity decreases in autumn and winter and will suffer the consequences.
There are many things you can do to protect and improve the skin in autumn and winter.
1) hydrate. Although this sounds like a non-brainer, really said. I forget to put moisturizer all the time, and then marvel at how dry my face. Fine lines seem to grow every winter! One of the kindest thing you can do your skin is to use a good emollient cream or lotion. Go for lotion if your skin is dry and moderate. Choose one person and one body. Sometimes they are the same lotion. Very itchy, flaky skin may need a more concentrated cream. Slather it day and night. Use the cream on your face at night. I often use Vaseline, when all else fails!
2) minimizing the SOAP / shower TIME: If you dig in the mud on a daily basis do not need to bowl with a heavy dose of soap from head to toe. Daily showers sometimes seems, is the summer, but cut back on any other day in winter, it is important for those who have dry and itching skin. Commercial soaps and liquid soaps and is now so well is dry. Only a soap, it really is necessary: the armpits, face or neck, legs, groin. Lathering onto your skin daily hot shower is a recipe for very dry skin. If possible, soak in the pool, however, is actually more moisturizing than a shower. But please do not make a luxurious whirlpool bath, soap and again be considered a minimum. Another tip: replace the water cooler before you get out of the shower to close the funds and retains the moisture of skin! It’s called the treatment of water will do wonders for your hair, too.
3) hydrate (again): Now when you shower or bath, moisturize your skin again. Use a lighter cream for daily use if you want, and moisturizing lotion while you sleep.
4) Stay hydrated: This is the second part of the recommendation. We are what we eat and drink. Drinking at least 6-8 glasses of water a day to reduce the effects of dry skin. Keeping moisture out is only half the battle. Keeping the humidity inside is equally important.
5) Eat right food: Once again, we are what we eat, and heart-healthy oils should be included in your diet to support your body to remain “anointed one” from inside to outside.
6) GET humidifier: Use a humidifier in your home can be considered for people with severe dry skin. Those plagued flakiness what I’m talking about here. If you can not afford fancy or expensive model humidifier, humidifier for children is to find the baby department. Sometimes, it’s pretty low prices for those on a tight budget (who is not these days?). If you still can not afford it, that pot of water on the stove is “low” and watch it during the day. Add more water if you want you can even add a few drops of essential oil to water for the house smell nice.
7) Use a sunscreen and LIPBALM: Take the gloves and wear layers, shedding the day grows warmer. Although we tend to cover up more during the winter, face and hands were exposed to UVA and UVB. Snow and puddles of water reflect the sun’s rays. Use at least SPF15 or 30 skin and lips. Keep the tube of lip balm in the car and office.
GET a lot of sleep: Eight hours of sleep at night is always time. Night is when our skin throughout the body repairs itself. When you’re sick, you get more, and this is equally true if you have dry, scaly or itchy skin disease, which is compounded by the dry winter air.
