The Best Oils for Facial Skin Care

Did you know the ultimate beauty program effectively uses at least four oils?

Great facial skin care starts by understanding the sun destroys collagen through repeated sun exposure. Skin texture naturally changes over time and can lead to dry and rough-textured skin. The environment and lifestyle choices we make can affect skin tone, causing sun and age spots known as hyper-pigmentation.

Most of us start off with even skin color and tone but as our skin is exposed to environmental pollutants, the sun, and UVA & UVB rays, it begins to change and takes on an aged appearance. The best facial skin care avoids certain types of oils like mineral and coconut, which can potentially clog your pores and may even be detrimental to the health of your skin.

Here is a summary of four oils that provide critical benefits to an effective, long-lasting facial skin care program:

1. Wheat Germ Oil – A rich source of omega-3 and omega-6 essential fatty acids, wheat germ oil is known as the acne fighter. Wheat germ oil is documented to be effective in treating acne, blemishes, and provides antioxidant protective properties. Look for an anti aging skin care product that has wheat germ oil as an ingredient if acne is a problem.

2. Almond Oil – has been known for centuries for its ability to nourish and soothe sensitive skin. All skin types can use an anti aging skin care product with an almond oil base.

3. Tea Tree Oil – has been used in the Far East culture for generations as a skin healer.

Additionally, it carries oxygen into the hair follicles, reducing and killing bacteria that lead to pimples. All skin types can benefit from an anti aging skin care product with pure tea tree oil extract.

4. Jojoba Oil – helps reduce the production of unsightly skin oil while actually strengthening the skin. Every facial skin care program can benefit by an anti aging skin care product with jojoba oil as the base.

As we age, moisture levels in the skin begin to drop causing it to become dry and dehydrated which, in turn, makes fine lines and wrinkles very noticeable. A leading dermatologist says that the correct oil fills in the spaces between the cells in the upper levels of the skin. By filling the spaces, oil-based products smooth and lubricate aging skin. Additionally, oils are significantly easier to absorb into the skin as opposed to water-based moisturizers due to their chemical structures.

Facial Skin Care – Take Care of Your Skin Today!

Facial Skin Care – Take Care of Your Skin Today!

Many people struggle on the right ways of facial skin care. With a wide range of facial skin care products in the market today, it could be very confusing to know what is right from wrong. If you are one of those who yearn for what is best in taking care of your skin, here are some guidelines for you to have that younger looking skin.

Remember that knowing your skin type is the first step in proper facial skin care. Skin care solely depends on the type of skin you have. Skin is categorized as oily, normal or combination, dry, sun-damaged and sensitive.

There are four basic steps in facial skin care. The first step is cleansing. It is important to look for a good cleanser that best suits your skin type. Keep away from bar soaps that make your skin dry. Avoid too much cleaning though. Washing your face at night is fine. Use lukewarm water in the morning. Avoid using hot or cold water in your face because it may break capillaries. The best way to wash your face and lose dirt as much as clogged pores is using warm water. Use only a pea-size of cleanser and then, rinse with lukewarm or cool water. It is important to remove your makeup before going to bed using the right makeup remover.

The second step is to exfoliate. Many people forget to include exfoliation in the weekly facial skin care regimen. But the right exfoliation makes so much difference in the appearance of the skin. One of the reasons why men’s skin appears to be younger looking is because of shaving. Daily shaving helps in exfoliation. Chemical peels, retinoids and microdermabrasion are the different methods to exfoliate the skin. Scrubs help in eliminating the top layer of dead skin cells but it may also make your skin dull. Exfoliating once a week is best to keep the skin glowing. It is important to use only gentle scrub that has tiny grains. Using cheap scrubs with big grains may tear and harm your skin.

You can use Retinoid, which helps in eliminating dead skin cells as well as creating skin collagen. It is the structural fiber of the skin and as one gets older, collagen breaks down and produces large pores as well as fine lines. Retinoid is said to be a miracle skin saver. How about using toner? Some say that toners are necessary, some say otherwise. Toners help in eliminating makeup and dirt and oil. You can rely on good cleanser for this issue so it is really up to you if you still want to use toners.

The third step in facial skin care is moisturizing. No matter what type of skin you have, moisturizing should be a part of every skin care regimen. Moisturizer helps in sealing moisture into the skin and even if you have an oily skin type, it is still best to moisturize.

The fourth step is using sunscreen as part of the facial skin care. Applying sunscreen is necessary because sun damage is the best source of having wrinkles. Whether it is winter or summer, observe using sunscreen.

Q&A: Good facial lotion for very dry skin… also pore minimizer?

Wednesday, July 7th, 2010
Dry Facial Skin Care
by Waseef Akhtar

Question by Shannon W: Good facial lotion for very dry skin… also pore minimizer?
My facial skin is horribly dry… its noticeably flaky and red (not real red but more pink on my cheeks and chin). I spent a fair amount of money on some Clinique skin care facial wash and lotion that was suppose to help but it doesn’t work. I have been using it for months. The lotion helps make the dryness less visible but doesn’t treat the overall problem.

Can anyone recommend a good lotion that will make my skin smooth again? I am very self conscious about my face… its even hard to get makeup to cover it up. I barely ever wear make up… and when I do, doesn’t hide my dry skin.

Also, I seem to have large pores… can anyone recommend something for that? Thanks so much!!!
I should know this but….. what is the best way to exfoliate?

Also, thanks for the recommendation! I am glad that you brought it up that it doesnt make her feel oily cause that is why I gave up trying different lotions… they make me feel either oily or make me break out. I don’t really have a prob with acne.

Best answer:

Answer by Rachel
First of all, are you exfoliating around once a week? That’ll really help with your pore problem.

And my best friend uses this Neutrogena moisturizer. She says it really works to keep her skin hydrated without it being oily and zitty. Maybe you could go for that?

What do you think? Answer below!

Facial Skin Care Tips for Skin Rejuvenation

Wednesday, May 19th, 2010
Dry Facial Skin Care
by Waseef Akhtar

Facial Skin Care Tips for Skin Rejuvenation

There are three ways to keep your skin healthy and glowing. In order to maintain the radiance of your face, you have to cleanse, tone, and moisturize it. These facial skin care tips should be done regularly. This guide is not only applicable for the women, but also for the men. In the past, the men do not think that cleaning their face is needed. For them, facial skin care products are manufactured only for the females. However, the current times have seen the males using skin care products. What is more, products for anti-aging and for skin care are not only formulated for the benefit of the opposite gender. Recently, there are some beauty products that are made especially for the guys.

The first step to complete skin rejuvenation is cleansing. There are several different kinds of cleansers in the market. There are some products that are good for your face, while there are some that may harm your skin. When looking for the right facial skin care cleanser, you have to consider some things. But most importantly, you have to choose a product that is suitable to your skin type. Your personal preference only comes last, if you do not want to damage your skin. When washing the face, do not use any kind of soap. Opt for one that contains ingredients, which are gentle on your face. If you want to remove grime, dirt, and make-up from your face, you need to use wipes. These are appropriate for cleansing the face, since there are some brands that are manufactured for sensitive skin types.

After washing or cleansing your face, use a toner. This facial skin care product makes sure that you are able to remove any dirt or make-up that has remained. Your toning product also completely removes your cleanser. Toners contain little amounts of alcohol, which act as astringent. There are some toners that stings and makes your face feel taut and dry. Facial skin care products like these indicate strong formulation. If the result of your skin care product is the latter, you should opt for a toner that is formulated with mild ingredients. If your skin is oily, go for toners that contain a high percentage of alcohol. When your skin is dry, opt for a toning product that has least alcohol.

The last step to facial skin rejuvenation is moisturizing. This is greatly needed for each person, no matter the skin type. Facial skin care moisturizers are formulated specially to replenish the skin moisture that is lost. Moisturizers also protect the face from direct exposure to the sun’s rays and pollution. There are a lot of skin experts that recommend the use of an ultraviolet filter moisturizer. This product works by filtering the sun’s harmful rays. However, you have to remember that using a moisturizer is not enough to keep your face protected from sunlight. You also have to follow other protection tips such as wearing a hat and sunglasses.

There are plenty of facial skin care moisturizing products available in the market. Most of these products are formulated with ingredients that hinder premature symptoms of aging like wrinkles and fine lines. The price range of moisturizers is broad, with different levels of efficiency. Aside from facial skin care products, you can also go to a spa. Spas offer complete skin rejuvenation through facial masks and skin massage.

If you want to shop for facial skin care products, the best place to be is Skin Energizer. This website offers different types of skin rejuvenation products for both men and women.

www.aloe-vera-forum.com Here’s an easy recipe for an homemade aloe vera skin treatment. It’s easy, it’s good for your skin and it’s inexpensive. This one’s particularly good if you have dry sensitive skin or have been sunbathing out in the sun. All you need is aloe vera juice, aloe vera gel and rose oil.

Facial Skin Care-it Shows

Friday, January 22nd, 2010

Image taken on by .
There’s probably no other part of your body that you give as much attention to as your face. It is, after all, the part of you that we show to the world. It’s what makes a first impression and it tells others a lot about the type of person you really are. It’s no wonder you want to make sure you get everything you can from facial skin care that is available to make your skin as radiant and healthy as possible.

You don’t have to worry about not being able to find a product to give you the treatment you need. There are so many products available that your only problem will be deciding which ones to choose. First, you should determine what type of skin you have. It could be dry, oily, normal, or combination. Dry skin tends to be flaky and sometimes itchy. Oily skin becomes obviously shiny from excess oil production and is prone to acne outbreaks, and combination skin is usually oily in the “t-zone” across the forehead and down to the chin while other areas are normal to dry.

Once you’ve determined your type of skin, look for products that are made specifically for your skin type. Using products for other types of skin is counterproductive and may do more harm than good.

That’s just a small part of determining what type of facial care you need. There is natural skin care that means no chemicals to irritate sensitive skin. These products produce far fewer side effects than regular products that contain chemicals. There are also specialized products, such as those that reduce the signs of aging.

If taking years off your face is your primary interest, then anti-aging treatments will interest you. You should only use that intended for the face, and most of the time, you will want to invest in more than one type of product. While one type of product may work for the rest of your face, you probably will need something heavier for the eye area. The skin in this area is thinner and begins to show age sooner, so you will want to pay special attention around your eyes.

There are products that are designed to prevent aging, and the sooner you start using them, the better your results will be. Others are made to fill in lines that have already started to form. Then, there are those products who boast at regenerating cell production to keep your skin looking new.

The best way to get the most from you facial skin care is to know your own skin, and know what you want from a product. Of course, you should also know what you don’t want. More importantly, always use it faithfully. Your skin thrives on the attention you give it, and your face will reflect the time you spend on it. There are a lot of great products out there to help provide optimum facial skin care, but nothing will work if you leave it in the bottle.

Although many people swear that the line is the best soap to clean your face is rarely a good choice. Soap strips away moisture to the skin, and that is not good. If you have oily skin, this can cause serious problems and can cause acne and skin overproduction of oil. If you already have dry skin, this may be exacerbated by the problems.

It is best to look for soaps containing glycerin and similar compounds, it actually attracts moisture into the skin rather than drive away.

Face Myth # 3: Resources of the skin can be opened or closed

This myth probably occurred because some resources are more visible than others. This reflected the resources were likely to remain open. The truth is that all resources are always open.

The reason why some people seem to have more of other resources related to the number of dead skin cells, which can build around them. Greater resources are not only less attractive, either. It is easier to dead cells, bacteria and oil inside them to get clogged and lead to breakouts.

Reduce the visibility of resources using a product that exfoliates the skin as part of the facial skin care system for them. By using this regularly, you can reduce the pore size and your skin looks healthier.

Best facial skin care for dry, winter skin?

Monday, December 14th, 2009

Winter is ravaging my skin! My skin has very dry, flaky spots in middle of forehead and around my eyes and eyelids. Right now I use neutrogena gentle cream cleanser daily, and st. ives collagen elastin moisturizer. I use Caudalie essential oil under and around my eyes- it was mad expensive but hasn’t made the problem go away, just soothes it a little bit.
I think the st. ives may be better for summer though b/c its not very thick. Anyway, can anyone recommend a not super-greasy day cream and a nice, soothing, moisturizing night cream? I don’t have $40 to spend on this stuff, by the way :-p

Good facial skin care products for dry skin… help!!?

Tuesday, December 8th, 2009

Does anyone know of any good skin care products (face wash, lotion, etc..) for dry skin? I’ve tried SheerCover and the Heidi Klum stuff. LOVE SheerCover, but it just doesn’t work for my skin – I still have to do a mask every other day. I hated the Heidi Klum stuff, I just couldn’t stand the smell.
Any suggestions? I will spend the money, but I don’t want it to be TOO pricey.
Thanks!

Facial Skin Care – Tips for Winter Skin Care

Saturday, November 28th, 2009

Image taken on o by t.
Cold weather does more than keep all of us inside by the fireplace. It can also play havoc with our skin. The cold, dry weather combined with the drying effects of the artificial heaters in our home can cause our skin to lose important moisture. Here are some ideas for a good facial skin care plan that will keep your skin looking healthy and beautiful until spring.

Consider Changing Moisturizers

The moisturizer you have for the spring and summer as part of your facial skin care regime might be great for warm weather but you may need to switch during the winter when your skin is drier. Normally, water-based creams are great but in winter consider choosing an oil-based product. Make sure to avoid any types of clogging oils that won’t be good for your pores. You may also want to look for moisturizers that contain alpha-hydroxy acids and/or glycerin because they will bring more moisture to your skin naturally.

Keep Using Sunscreen

One dangerous facial skin care misconception is the sun is only dangerous during the summer but that’s not true. During the winter, the sun’s UV radiation is still strong. Most of us just cover up too much to notice. However, if your face is exposed you should be using sunscreen when you go outside. It’s a good idea to apply it to your skin about a half an hour before you leave and bring a small tube with you if you’ll be outside for a long time.

Invest in Humidifiers

Not everything in your facial skin care plan is going to come in tubes. All of that heat from your home’s heater may keep you from freezing but it’s also drying out your face. Humidifiers send more moisture into the air of your home which can prevent this from happening. Just remember to turn off those humidifiers in the summer when you don’t need the extra humidity indoors.

Use Oatmeal to Combat Itching

Dry skin in the winter can sometimes lead to itchy skin. Scratching your skin will only cause damage so instead you should fill up your bathtub with a combination of lukewarm water (avoid getting the water too hot because they can actually cause more drying) and oatmeal. The combination can help restore some moisture and relieve the itching. Once you dry off make sure to slather on a good amount of your moisturizer, too, as part of good facial skin care.
